The Via Tolosana, also known as the Arles Way, is one of the great historic French routes to Santiago de Compostela.
Waymarked as GR®653, this route crosses the south of France from Arles to the Pyrénées before continuing into Spain. It offers pilgrims a rich variety of landscapes, from historic villages and country lanes to natural spaces and remarkable heritage.
Along its course, the Via Tolosana passes through Montpellier, Saint-Guilhem-le-Désert, Castres, Revel and Toulouse.
Revel is thus a favoured stopover for walkers wishing to discover an authentic area, between the hills of the Montagne Noire and the wide plains of the Lauragais.
Stopping in Revel means taking the time to discover a welcoming town with a rich heritage.
In the centre of town, the famous covered market hall of Revel is not to be missed. Its market, renowned throughout the region, lets visitors and pilgrims alike discover local produce and the warm atmosphere of the Lauragais.
Just a few kilometres from the hotel, Lac de Saint-Ferréol offers an ideal setting to relax after a day of walking. This historic site, linked to the water-feed system of the Canal du Midi, is today enjoyed for its walks and its scenery.
Pilgrims can also take the opportunity to discover Sorèze, a historic village at the foot of the Montagne Noire, as well as the many trails and natural landscapes around Revel.
